    Paris nostalgia

Do not get me wrong! I am very happy to be back, especially for this one below:

    OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I also found my dear laptop waiting for me. that means that I could finally process some photographs, thing I could barely do in France because my computer over there is quite old and cannot ready handle heavy files. All my suitcases and the scanner made it to Arusha. Yippee!!

So here are some photos I took in Paris this year.

    _KA10329

I particularly love this one showing details of the Eiffel Tower. It is a digital photo converted to Black and White but it is, in the end, mainly white and grey. There is merely any black.

This carousel was down the Sacré Coeur. Very colorful.

    _KA10387

Notre-Dame de Paris. As you can see I found my 16-85 waiting for me and working.

    _KA10398

This boat, like many in the center of Paris, has been transformed in a café or a restaurant. it is very nice, especially during the summer at down…. and with some music, it is awesome.

That is all for now…Back soon with more photos.

    Rolleiflex

One of my missions for Ben while I was in Europe was to buy him a rolleiflex camera. I did so.

As it was my duty to test it, I took the camera with me on one occasion. i scanned the negatives with the NEW scanner as the other one died ONE year after I bought it!!

So Here are 2 photos I took last week. For Ben, so he can be reassured that his new baby works well.

I’d better go and work on suitcase filling management…

    Montmartre from my Polaroid

I took again the Monster with me yesterday. The Monster is also known as Polaroid 600SE. It was loaded with 125i film.

I played tourist in Montmartre. Here are some photos, straight out of the camera!

    Paris under the sun

Finally the Sun is back over Paris. It is summer…

    _KA10422

Last Sunday, Rue Saint-Louis en l’Île, Paris

The photo above was shot with my new little point and shoot that I just bought. I am in love with the idea of having a camera at all time with me. It is almost more discreet to take what i call life photos.

Today I took the Nikon D300 and the Mamiya 600SE loaded with 125i film with me. I decided to go for a walk around Montmartre.

I do enjoy Paris. More than ever. I am there on holidays. I take my time. I enjoy taking public transportation. I take time to see, to notice, to take mental notes. The only thing that is not so fun is to carry heavy things instead of putting them in the car…

    _KA10451

My computer and software here do not let me process much my photos, not that I usually do much, as the computer might crash at everything I ask… Nevertheless, i could not resist some B&W photos. When I took this one I thought of it in B&W. I like the fact that when i shoot with a digital camera i think of a photograph in Black and White when I shoot it.

_KA10444Montmartre is at the top of a hill so there are many streets like these. it is quite steep.

_KA10521There is a funicular railway to go to the Sacré Coeur to avoid climbing all the stairs. it is a short but nice ride.

    _KA10495

Here it is, the Sacré Coeur… a tourist attraction.

    _KA10461

The one above is especially for Ben. :-)

And then a ballad on the river…

That is all for tonight…. I also took some Polaroid – I need to scan them.
