You can find for info on Elise blog. This is a year long project.
I finished what will be my mini book. I did not build it but I used a binder I received some time ago but with which I did not know what to do.
it is a small plastic binder: about 22x18 cm (about 6 3/5 x 7 inches).
It is perfect for this project.I decorated it and I am now waiting for the 1st challenge, tomorrow.
Two versions of the same photograph: color and sepia.
This zebra was grazing peacefully the grass of the Ngorongoro crater.
That day, we were lucky as the weather was nice in the crater. Very often, it is cloudy. I am disappointed though because I did not see any rhino... no the one i saw at the San Diego Zoo does not count!
I like Kelly Burton work and regularly visit her blog. We are also part of the same group, Mixed Media collage artists.
She put a Tutorial on her blog to make secret altered envelopes. It is very nice and beautiful. thank you Kelly.
That is the number of unread mails I still have to go through... Been doing quite well over the week-end, more than 300... but still i need to work a little bit on that so I am up to date with the email. The problem is that if I stay away from the computer one night, the following day I will find some one hundred new messages in my inbox :-)
Though I am improving at responding at my mails. Not that I am bad at it but my problem is that days are too short! Can someone help me with that? It is not that I am not organized but I want to do so many things and I am interested in so many more. But this week-end was quite good I admit: I made some art (got some red inchies ready to get into an envelope), worked on my pictures, uploaded pictures on imagekind and flickr, ordered some US postage stamps from zazzle, ordered Moo cards, wrote a few mails, read some magazines (love Domino mag - Thank you so much Ali Edwards for making me discover it!), bought digital collage sheets on etsy, bought acrobat so I can make and sell my own digital collage sheets, made pesto pasta, watch some episodes of Kaamelott, played with sweet Muffin... not too bad. though still have some items to check on my to-do list.
Some pictures to finish the day:
So I have not been blogging a lot lately. Weel first, not so many exciting things have happened so not many exciting things to say...
Even if the craziness at the office has slowed down a bit, I am still very busy but I have more time for myself. Gotta love that!
My parents came to visit me in December so I have taken them to safari and to Zanzibar. That means lots of new pictures. I am putting them one by one on my image kind website and on flickr so you can have a look. links are on the side of this page.
Though before sharing the pictures I have to sort them out and work on them. As I shoot in Raw format, when I use my digital camera, the pictures are neutral so I have to make the necessary corrections to have the picture as it should be.
The film pictures also needs some treatment because of scatches, etc....
For the picture I took with my new medium format camera, well, you and I will have to wait as I have no scanner to process the 6x6 negatives.... patience...
Talking about cameras, I am thinking about my next purchase. I really like my Olympus E-500 but I do not think I will upgrade to the new E-3. May go to Nikon in the end. Ben is using a D200 and I think I will go to the D300.
I guess I will decide when I go back to Europe or to the US. If I go to the US I will buy there as it is outrageously less expensive than buying in Europe.
To finish this post, another carved door in Stone Town, Zanzibar.
Another picture taken in Zanzibar with the Zorki 3S. This is a detail of a Zanzibar door. There are unfortunatly less and less traditional carved doors in Zanzibar. Though since I have been living in Tanzania I have noted that some owners are having new doors made in the traditional style. That is good news.
Stone Town is a really old city. Many houses are in very bad state as a house costs a lot of money to maintain. I am trying to find some litterature on the Zanzibar houses, the architecture, the interior decoration. Unfortunatly I did not find so many things. only a couple of books but they are not very complete.
Talking about pictures, I have been selling some pictures on Imagekind lately. I am so happy about that. Indeed it is always a nice feeling to know that people who do not know me appreciate my work. I am putting some new pictures.
I have also been making some arts lately and I will put some pictures about this soo too.
Before begining processing Black and White films ourselves, we did a color test film with the new cameras. have to give it to the shop and a few hours and 1 000 Tshs later the roll is there. The results are amazing. The lenses of those cameras are not treated so color is usually not an option but I must say I am impressed.
Below is a photo taken by Ben. No post treatment at all was done! I love my Zorki S
